× Two New Additions To The Purse-Light Family. End Of Gallery.

In this gallery - I'm showing the USALite Purse/Pocket Spotlights, in different colors, (found another color) and more body styles. I also have three different boxes to show you. These work using two AA batteries, and made from catalin plastic, (that's was what I was told). These came out in the 40's. Counting the lights in the display, I now have 24 in this collection.

Take a good look at the boxes. You will notice the pocket light, (on the box) is the same style as the brown and black pocket light. This is a different style from all the other pocket lights. The white light has - International Show Company etched, (not a decal) on the side. Chances are it was a give away to promote their shoe company.

USALite black purse/spotlite with the box, (which is different from the other boxes) instructions and batteries. This light is the same as the brown light seen below and to the right. Another nice fine for this USALite collector!

You will notice the brown light is just a little shorter, than the other pocket lights. Also, the metal piece is shorter too, and dosen't wrap around the end. The other lights have a patented number printed on the end, with USALite printed on it. The brown pocket light does not have any pat. number or dates on it. USALite is printed on the back side of the metal piece, which has no clip, (the others have the clip) to open for putting the batteries in it. The other difference is, the location of the switch button. You should be able to see that in the gallery below, (look for the red & brown lights). I now have 3 lights like the brown one. Now we know that USALite had some different colors in these. See below.

The instructions for the purse/spotlite was still in the box! I've seen the boxes before but not with instructions. How did it survive? Very nice fine for this USALite collector!

My latest find for the USALite pocket lights, not one, but two. I always wonder if they made these, and now we know.

Here's a pair of the vest pocket lights. Has a push button on the side to open. I'm thinking the body is the same as the purse lights, catalin plastic. They used a #977 battery, which is printed on the bottom. These came out in the 1930's. I want to say - Thank You, to another flashlight collector for giving me a heads up on these. Thank You Bill, (you know who you are) And also to Steve Giterman, for sending me the patent informaion, with drawings, (Dated May 10, 1932). Thank You. Another great fine for this USALite collector!

1940's countertop display for the USALite purse/spotlights. The cardboard display is in great condition. All lights came with the #908 AA battery inside. Maybe the best fine yet for this USALite collector! Bonus - printers block of the display for paper advertising. Not a perfect fit, but close. Has 98 cents on the block, and $1.25 on the display.

Final Word. The hunt continues for the orange color pocket spotlight, and other colored pocket spotlights not seen here. Also different boxes other than the three seen here - are also on my list. Here's a couple of views to see the difference in the two lights. The backside shows no clip on the brown light. These come apart and the other version doesn't. No hing on the end. I now have 3 purse/pocket lights like the brown version. Brown, white and black. See below.

The two Boy Scouts USALite purse lights on the bottom left, was sent to me by, Collector Bill from somewhere in the land of Kansas. He thought they belonged in the USALite Flashlight Musuem. A flashlight collector sends flashlights where they belong. Thank You Mr. Bill. Of course I paid him back for the lights. Not many flashlight collectors would do this for another flashlight collector.

The orange purse spotlight is the one I have been searching for, for years! I think it's the same color of orange, been a long time since I've seen it.
