Vintage Cigarette Case Lighters


Here's a few vintage cigarette case lighters from my collection. I never collected a lot of the case lighter styles for some reason. They do take up more room than the other lighters in the display case and on the shelf. Maybe just couldn't find a lot in good condition. Some day I'll get my other case lighters out of storage? I know I think I have a few more of these. Sure don't like the prices on eBay. These may have cost me a dollar or less back in the 70's and 80's, at the flea markets and yard sales I went to.

On the right is a 1930's-40's owl cigarette dispenser with a music box, (which still works) and a copper ashtray. Holds 20 cigarettes. When the top door is opened, the music would start, and the cigarettes would be lifted up. Should have a green and red bulb behind the celluloid piece with the star on it. Also has a green and red bulb under the cigarette holders, that would light up when the top was opened. There's 2 more bulbs to be found, hiding under the ashtray part, which also has a celluloid piece in front. At one time, they all worked. None of the bulbs are working now.

The bulbs will be hard to replace. The 2 bulbs under the cigarette holders, are soldered to a piece of brass, nothing to screw them in or out, like a bulb holder. The other bulbs may be soldered on the same way. There's a drawer in the back under the ashtray, that holds 2 D cell batteries that would be wired to the bulbs.

So, when all 6 bulbs, (3 green, 3 red) are in working order. The 2 bulbs behind the star piece could be seen, the 2 bulbs under the cigarette holders, which would light up on both sides of the owl. Then on the right, under the ashtray, you could see the bulbs shine through the holds lighting that part up. A great looking piece when everything works!

Here's something you don't see a lot. Ronson Redskin Flints, the pack is made out of cardboard or compressed paper. Holds five flints, and still has two left inside. It was patented in 1944. Not sure what year this one came out?

Aluminum match box, 1 3/4 inches long with striker pad. Could be home/shop made? Portable ash tray 3 1/2 inches long.

Metal cigarette case/holder for non filtered smokes. 3" x 2 1/2". Maybe the 50's.

This cigarette case has no lighter. When you push the button on the left, a cigarette will be pushed out at the top left. Has Ejector Cigarette Case, LYMCO trade mark printed on the inside, with Pat applied for. Lyons MFG USA. 3" x 3 1/2" closed.
